Michael Leroy Fisher, (Mikey), age 67 of Arkadelphia Arkansas went to be with his Lord Saturday July 17, 2010 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was born September 16, 1942 in Atlanta Georgia, the son of Alfred Leroy and Edith Melinda Fisher.
He was a retired carpenter, a member of the Ephiphany Episcopal Church from childhood, until he left home for college. He attended Murphy High where he excelled in football. He then graduated from Ouachita Baptist University. He went into the Air Force and served four years during the Vietnam era, then went into the Arkansas National Guard. He retired at the age of 60 with a total of 30 years of military service. He was also a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. He later was a member of the Arkadelphia Episcopal church and then joined Mt. Zion Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of over 20 years, Diana Fisher, two sons, William Alfred Fisher of Ft. Smith, Robert Chance Fisher of Arkadelphia, one step-daughter, Lorrie Hutcheson and husband Kevin of Arkadelphia; two grandchildren, Austin and Destiny Hutcheson, one sister Jeanne Bennett of Atlanta Georgia; he is also survived by a host of other family and friends too numerous to mention.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, July 22nd at Mt. Zion Cemetery with Rev. Travis Langley and Father Alan Rosenau officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Wednesday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. Memorials may be made to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church 299 Mayridge Rd. Arkadelphia, AR. 71923.
