Michael Clark

Michael G. “Mike” Clark passed away on Saturday October 23rd, 2021, at the Wilderness Lodge in Kingston, AR. Mike was ushered out of this life in the company of his new best friend, John Ott. Mike was born September 29, 1962, in Union Springs, Alabama to James Carol Clark and Joann Dorman Clark. He and his family settled in Eufaula, Alabama. Mike enjoyed a wonderful childhood growing up on Lake Eufaula. He attended Lakeside High School and later attended Troy University and served in the National Guard from the encouragement of his beloved Uncle Jimmy Dorman. Both his mother and father owned businesses in Eufaula where he worked. After several years of work with his father he moved to New Orleans, Louisiana with one of his many best friends to pursue a career in the transportation field. In pursuit of many of his hobbies he played 3 on 3 basketball around the South. This one day brought him to Little Rock, Arkansas where he met his wife of 28 years. In Little Rock he drove for AAA Cooper then later opened a branch of Whitehead Brothers Trucking in North Little Rock. After years of service to others Mike decided to open his own brokerage company so he could work in the morning and pick up his baby girl from school every afternoon. To say he was the ultimate dad is a huge understatement. In 2011 he added his trucking company Mike Clark Transportation. Mike was an incredible businessman who treasured his relationships with his work family immensely. Mike carved a place out for himself whether it was on the ball court, the motorcycle track, a new city or in your heart. Mike had a deep love for history and travel. He blessed his family with the opportunity to see many faraway places, such as Alaska and southern Mexico to see friends. As well as Barbados, even Peru along with many others. He truly had friends all over the world.  Mike developed a love for tropical jungles after serving in Ecuador in the National Guard. Mike loved Alabama football with a passion but loved Arkansas so much he wouldn’t fly the roll tide flags on his house. Mike was preceded in death by his father James Carol Clark and his brother James Clark. Mike is survived by his wife Lachelle their daughter Macie and by his mother Joann Little as well as his niece Chrisi Clark, and his nephews Jamie and Cory Clark. Great nephews and niece, Cashton, Jameson and Henleigh Grace. Special cousins Sonia Dorman and Lee Green.
