Michael Bratcher

In Little Rock, Arkansas at Baptist Hospital on July 14, 1953, Carrel and Mildred Vandiver Bratchers lives were blessed with their first child, a son, and they named Michael Eugene. Mike went home March 20, 2007. Over the course of his lifetime, he blessed many people, family and friends alike with his keen wit and wisdom. His tongue in cheek humor and good spirit was a pleasure resulting in many fond and funny memories.

Mike loved to hunt and fish. He loved nature and just being ?out in the woods?. He loved music, especially blues. He loved to play his drums and spoons. He was a great pool player. He loved NASCAR, the Razorbacks, St. Louis Cardinals, ?ABD? in pro football. He loved Harley?s and he loved to read. More than anything else in the world Mike loved God and his family and has left a deep impression of his smile and laugh on the minds of his wife and best friend for the past 23 years Carole, their son, Duke Douglass and his wife, Cindi, of Fouke, Arkansas, and their daughter Casey Douglass Williams, of The Redlands, California.

He was at the hospital for the births of each of his three grandchildren that he adored; Cody Blake Douglass, Cami Mariah Williams, and Clint Montgomery Williams, III; and they will miss him dearly.

Mike will be deeply missed by his parents, Carrel and Elanor Bratcher of Conway, his sisters Gena Bunker and husband, Russ of Conway, Debbie Heath and husband, Lonnie, of Conway, and Sandy Roberts, of Little Rock; brother, Rex Davis and wife Rhonda of Vilonia, Nieces, Heather Heath, Chelsey Hess, Chloe and Aly Brinkley, Nephews, Dylan Murphy, Charlie Roberts, Daniel Roberts, Jason Heath, Chris Morrow and Ridge Davis.

He will be deeply missed by his best friends, Jeff Brown and ?The Snowbird? and his pup Gizmobuddyruff and many other relatives and friends.

Mike leaves this world for eternal rest and to join his much loved little brother, Russell Kieth (Rusty) Bratcher, his mother, Mildred Ada Vandiver Lusk, maternal grandparents, Cleo Andrew and Ada Alice (Carroll) Vandiver; paternal grandparents, Golden Thomas, Minnie Ora (Polk) Bratcher.

Mike lived by the motto ?What Goes Around..Comes Around? He never understood how any person could kick another when they were down. He was just a genuinely good person and is now surrounded by Holy Angels and away from pain and evil.
Special thanks to Dr. Agarwal and the UAMS Cancer Research Center and staff, and Arkansas Hospice, especially Sweet Susie Johnston, R.N., and his C.N.A., Marilyn.
