Michael A. Welch

Michael A. Welch, age 67, of Kirby, died Monday, November 18, 2013. He was born on August 17, 1946, at Richmond, California, the son of Roy L. Welch and Pearl Jean Welch. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Danny Welch and his former wife, Jackie Welch Whisenhunt. He was retired from Bean Lumber Company, was Baptist in his faith and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and taking care of his beloved cat "TomTom". His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends, especially his loving daughter, Allie, who was truly his whole world. He is survived by his daughter, Alexandria "Allie" Welch and her fianc, Andrew Hallbuaer, both of Kirby; one grandchild, Jaydin Waggoner of Norman; his brother, Timothy Welch of Kirby; his sister, Deborah Welch of Kirby; his very special friends who he was a loving mentor to, Ryan Coopman and his wife, Leslie, of Norman and Sam Whisenhunt of Kirby; and several nieces, nephews and a host of wonderful friends. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, November 21, 2013, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. Raymond Dees officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in the Palestine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sam Whisenhunt, Leon Whisenhunt, Paul O'Neal, Shane Bailey, Marty Pipkins and Eddie Pipkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob White and Ryan Coopman.
