Mertis Hicks
Mertis P. Hicks, 87 of Little Rock, passed away Friday, January 8, 2010 at Arkansas Hospice Center in Little Rock. She was born October 10, 1922 near Arkadelphia, Arkansas; she was the daughter of E.A. Pennington and Martha Borland Pennington.
Mertis was retired from the Federal Home Loan Bank where she served as manager of the Collateral Division; she was a member of Geyer Springs United Methodist Church, and was a loving and caring mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Hicks, her parents, six brothers, and one sister.
Survivors include a son and daughter in law David and Virginia Hicks of Little Rock; two granddaughters Lisa Bevins and Lesli Lumpkin; one sister Maxine Byers of Buna, TX; and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Huson Funeral Home Chapel in Little Rock. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 11, 2009 at Huson Funeral Home in Little Rock, Arkansas.
