Melvin Hardage

Melvin Hardage, age 69 of Arkadelphia passed away Sunday, August 27, 2006 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born August 28, 1936 in Bismarck, AR the son of Duffie and Pearl Keeton Hardage. He was a retired Exxon distributor, a member of Second Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and on many committees throughout his life. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #381 and was very active in the community. He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Thomas Hardage; one daughter, Reda Blair and husband, Mike of Franklin, TN; one grandson, Brandon Blair of Baton Rouge, LA; his mother, Pearl Miller of Malvern; one brother, O'Neal Hardage and wife, Linda of Bismarck; five nephews, several cousins and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at the Second Baptist Church with Bro. Faron Rogers and Rev. Carl Kluck officiating. Interment will be in the DeRoche Cemetery with Masonic rites under the direction of Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Don Egger, Ray Stewart, Bill Phillips, Glen Wheeler, Danny Watson, and Vernon Hutchins. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Second Baptist Church Deacons and Adult II Sunday School Class. Memorials may be made to the Second Baptist Building Fund.
