Melvin Franklin

Melvin Martese Franklin was born February 20, 1989. He departed this life on March 6, 2021 at the age of 32.  Melvin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Karen C. Venson and Dwain Franklin, uncle, Dwayne Franklin, and two cousins, James D. Franklin and Donald D. Franklin.

Melvin was born to Lucille Charnett Franklin and Melvin Buchanan in Detroit, Michigan.  He gave his life to Christ at an early age, but he lived his life fit for him.  Anything and everything he accomplished was on his terms, regardless; and he wasn’t afraid to let you know how he felt.

Melvin leaves to cherish his memory two handsome sons, Martese Lee Franklin, age 7 and Ger’miah Lee Franklin, age 2, along with their mother and his life partner, Monique M. Lee; one sister, Chantese D. Dexter; niece, Raelynn N. Dexter; nephew, Raiden A. Dexter; both parents, Lucille C. Dexter and Melvin Buchanan and grandmother, Virginia Moore. He also leaves six aunts, five uncles, and extended families consisting of relatives and friends.

Melvin was a people person and was never the type to not give his opinion, no matter the topic.  He will truly be missed, always loved and never forgotten.
