Melissa Darlene Smith, 48, of Sheridan, Arkansas passed away July 9, 2017. She was born April 10, 1969 in Bakersfield, California to Billy Joe and Carolyn Longcrier Jones.
Melissa was of the Christian faith. She loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren were her greatest joy. Melissa collected porcelain dolls and loved frogs. She was an excellent homemaker and cook. Her family's favorite were her delicious homemade enchiladas and chicken pot pie.
Melissa leaves to cherish her memory three daughters: Kimberly Franklin and husband Steven Steele of Bakersfield, California, Jolene Herman and husband Timothy of Morrilton, Arkansas, and Amanda Franklin of Bakersfield, California; grandchildren, Bethaney Franklin, Dareius Franklin, and Joseph Kyle Lee Herman; parents, Billy Joe and Carolyn Jones of Sheridan, Arkansas; step-son, James Smith of Bakersfield, California; furry companion, Blue; and a host of family members and friends who love Melissa and will miss her always.
Memorial service will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 15, 2017, at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St., Benton, Arkansas.
