Melba E. Phillips

Melba E. Phillips, age 93, of Hot Springs, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, June 21, 2022.

She was born on October 11, 1928, in Hot Springs, the daughter of Clarence Melson and Ethal Lynch Melson.  She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, O.J. Phillips; her daughter, Brenda Andersen; and two brothers, Glenith Melson and Horace Melson. 

Melba was a Christian and a longtime member of Center Fork Baptist Church. She loved the Lord with all her heart, mind and soul.  You could find her often reading her bible or playing the piano and singing gospel songs.  Grandma was a wonderful cook and loved quilting and sewing.    

She is survived by her grandson and fiancé, Adam Andersen and Olivia Gower; five great-grandchildren, Ariel Andersen, Kyle Andersen, Caden Andersen, John Andersen and Amber Andersen; one brother, Whitney Melson; extended family and many wonderful friends.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 23, 2022, with Chaplain John Goodman officiating in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
