Melanie Gilbert

Melanie Suzann Tanner Gilbert, 43, of North Little Rock passed away Monday, June 22, 2015. She was born October 25, 1971 in Russellville, Arkansas. She was a member of Graves Memorial Baptist Church, North Little Rock and employed at Arkansas Heart Hospital as a Lead Resource/House Supervisor. While her role as a nurse was extremely important to her, the most valuable role in her life, above all was her relationship with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Brian Gilbert: son, Clayton Tanner "C.T." Gilbert; parents, Ronnie and Judy Tanner; mother-in-law, Sharon and Leo Knoernschild; grandmother, Elizabeth Ann Gray; and special aunts, uncles and cousins and countless friends that love her dearly. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Rev. U.L. Gray, Othel O. Tanner and Ida Mae Tanner.
Melanie graduated from Baptist School of Nursing in Springdale in 1996, and was employed at Washington Regional until she began new employment at Arkansas Heart Hospital in 2001.
Melanie had a big compassionate heart, shoulder to cry on and a big friendly smile for everyone, always positive and looking on the bright side of situations that were presented to her.
A time of fellowship will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 27, with the service following at 2:00 p.m. at Graves Memorial Baptist Church.
For those who cannot attend the Memorial Service there will be a register to sign and pay final respects to her from 12:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 26 at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home. Please enjoy the many pictures on display of her, from childhood to the beautiful woman she grew to be.
Honorary pallbearers are friends and co-workers of Arkansas Heart Hospital.
