Maysel Wilson, 94, of Lonoke, Arkansas, (Wattensaw community), died December 1, 2008. She was born December 11, 1913, in Ward, Arkansas, to the late John K. and Elora (Wilson) Jackson. Mrs. Wilson was a charter member of Oakdale Missionary Baptist Church, Wattensaw, and had lived at the same location since her wedding day in October, 1929.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred W. Wilson; brothers Kenneth Jackson, Cohen Jackson and Grady Jackson; sisters Ruby Short, Hazel Crump, Callie Glover, Gwendolyn McCulloch and Geneva Crump.
Survivors include brother-in-law Royce Crump of Ward; sister-in-law Marie Jackson of Merced, California; twenty nieces and nephews; special caregiver Don Billingsley and Keith and Tina Roush and many friends.
Viewing will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 4, 2008, at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 Friday before the funeral. Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2008, at Westbrook Funeral Home, with Bro. James Calhoun officiating. Burial will follow in Sylvania Cemetery.
