Mayes Scott

Mayes Scott, age 75, of Ward, Arkansas, passed away November 20, 2021.  He was born July 6, 1946 in Little Rock, AR to the late Herbert and Lora “Dollie” Mayes Scott.

He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Donna Sue (Smith) Scott; son, Herbert Michael (Jessica) Scott and their daughter, Annaleigh Mabel Scott; daughter, Samantha Lynn (Brian) Oholendt and their children, Hayden Scott, Benjamin Erick, Camryn Marie, and Claire Elizabeth Oholendt; his sibling, Frances (Dr. William) Furlow, of Conway; sister-in-law’s Sidney Lilly and Sharon Woodiel;  brother-in-law’s Jim Smith and Ricky(Francis) Smith, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and nephews, and extended family that will miss him.

Mayes was a 1964 graduate of Cabot High School and a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran.

He owned and operated H. M. Scott Lumber Company Inc. until 2018.  Mayes was a member of the Sylvania Presbyterian Church, where he served as a Deacon, and a member of the Sylvania Cemetery Board.

Visitation is Saturday, November 27th at 10:00 a.m., with funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m., at the Smith Westbrook Funeral Home Chapel in Beebe.
