Maxine Forrest, 97, of Sherwood died Monday, June 2, 2014 at her home in Sherwood. She was born December 18, 1916 in Hydrick, Arkansas to Winfred M. and Mable Holland Hodges. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Sherwood and retired from Pulaski County Special School District in food service.
She is survived by her daughters, Jackie Lynn Wiggs, Mable Louise Seelinger and Carolyn Ann Jones, all of Sherwood; son, William J. Forrest, Jr. of Nederland, Colorado; sister, Bonnie Jean Embry, of North Richland Hills, Texas; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and one expected great-great-grandchild. Special friends Dorothy Moseley and Carolyn Hiner. She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Forrest, Sr.; son, Max William Forrest; one sister, Gladys Blair; and her brother, Rev. Carl Hodges.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Friday at First Baptist Church of Sherwood followed by a celebration of her life at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Edgewood Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Sherwood building fund, 701 Country Club Road, Sherwood, Arkansas 72120; Baptist Health Hospice,9500 Kanis Road, Little Rock, Arkansas 72205.
