Max Brooks
Max O. Brooks age 84, of Bismarck, died Saturday, February 2, 2008 in Arkadelphia. He was born September 21, 1923 in Blytheville, AR the son of Otis Arthur and Ora Lee Thomlinson Brooks. Max served with the Merchant Marine in WWII and was a member of Third Street Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife Gladys Brooks.
He is survived by his wife Patsy White Brooks, two sons Jerry Brooks of Stuttgart and Terry Brooks of Bismarck, one step-son Carl Maxwell of Arkadelphia, four step-daughters, Frankie Davidson and Carla Jester both of Gurdon, Cathy Monteith of El Dorado, and Cheryl Hastings of Prescott, three sisters, Glenora Loftis of San Diego, CA, Imojean Ricks of Paradise, CA, and Janice Jones of Banning, CA, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Wednesday in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Chapel with Rev. Greg Lathem officiating and burial in Rest Havem Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
