Maurine Hale

Maurine Nevin Hale, 96, passed away on December 29, 2020.  She was born to Henry Wells and Maurine Louise (Denny) Nevin in Atlanta, Georgia.  After growing up in Atlanta and Dalton, Georgia, she graduated from the University of Georgia in Athens.  In 1948, she married Joseph “Joe” Perry Hale and moved to Fayetteville, N.C. where they made a home together until his death in 1991.  In 2014, she decided to move to Little Rock to be nearer to family.

Maurine was also preceded in death by her daughter, Peggy Hale Croshaw of Austin, Texas, brother, Dr. Harlan Nevin of Dallas, Texas and sister, Mary Louise Hobgood of Calhoun, Georgia.  She is survived by her daughter, Louise Hale Gutierrez (Roy) and grandson, David Gutierrez (Callie), both of Little Rock; grandsons, Matthew Gutierrez (Courtney) of Hoboken, N.J. and Joe Croshaw (Ashley) of Austin, Texas; great-grandchildren, Eva and Mary Grace Gutierrez and Jameson Croshaw; son-in-law, Paul Croshaw of Austin, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

Burial will be held at a later date in Fayetteville, N.C. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the television ministry at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church or to the CALS Foundation.
