Maurice Head

Maurice "M.D." Head, 84, of North Little Rock, passed away Friday, March 12, 2010. He was a veteran of World War II where he served in the United States Navy in the South Pacific. He was a Plank Member aboard the U.S.S. Gilmore. He was retired from Arkansas Highway Transportation Department after more than 30 years. He enjoyed cooking and especially made good chili. Mr. Head was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved the Lord and shared him with many. He did it right.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nadine Sparks Head of North Little Rock; two sons, David Shannon Head and wife Ann of Bono, Arkansas and Jonathan Paul Head and wife Jeanie of Little Rock, Arkansas and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Nana Bell Head, three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home. Burial will be in Edgewood Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main, 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
