Maudine Pless Holmes, 82, of Jacksonville, passed from this life on August 18, 2011 at her residence. She was born on April 16, 1929 in Lonoke, AR, the daughter of Van Herbert Pless and Elizabeth Epperson Pless. Mrs. Holmes was a member of North Hills Baptist Church and a former member of Faith Baptist Church. She served as a minister's wife for many years in various communities across the state. She was married to Retired Baptist Minister A. L. "Hap" Holmes for 49 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and 3 brothers.
She is survived by 3 sons; Monty Holmes (Suzi) of Cabot, AR; Nick Holmes (Pam) of Sherwood, AR and Steve Holmes (Janet) of Cabot, AR; 8 grandchildren; Tarik Holmes (Bonnie), Mandy Reid (Jared), Deena Holmes, Bethany Holmes, Matt Holmes (Angie), Samantha Holmes, Lisa Scott (Caleb) and Katie Haynes (Scott), 5 great grandchildren, 3 brothers, 4 sisters and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 21, 2011 from 3-5pm at Huson Funeral Home in Sherwood. Services will be held on Monday, August 22, 2011 at 10:00 am at North Hills Baptist Church in Sherwood.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Hills Baptist Church building fund.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and 3 brothers.
