Matthew Scott

Matthew Scott, age 41, of Hot Springs, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021.

He was born on August 27, 1980, in Hot Springs, the son of Sandy Scott and Brenda Tucker Scott. On December 13, 2003, he married the love of his life, Amber Voigt. He is preceded in death by his mother, Brenda Edwards.

Matthew was an adventurous free spirit, he loved all things outdoors including wake surfing, hiking and camping. He was a huge fan of the Chicago Cubs and loved to lift weights and he was an amazing cook. Matthew was a very sensitive and passionate man who lived his life to the fullest. His true passion was selling real estate where he got to meet so many people and make a lifetime of friends who he considered family. His other passion was coaching at the Lake Hamilton Optimist Club, working with the kids fed his soul in such a way nothing else could. Matt was a mentor to many kids and he strived to teach them not only sports but life lessons they could carry with them forever. Matt’s biggest goal in life was to leave this world better than how he found it. Matthew’s greatest asset was his smile and it was contagious. Matthew was loved by many including his wife, Amber, who he’d been married to for 18 years, along with his pup, Hercules, and will truly be missed by all.

He is survived by his loving wife, Amber Scott of Hot Springs; his father, Sandy Scott of Hot Springs; his maternal grandmother, Lois Tucker; his mother-in-law, Janet (Tim) Hill; his father-in-law, Ricky (Diane) Voigt; his brother-in-law, Landon (Kristen) Voigt; his step-father, Bob Edwards; and a host of extended family members and wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, December 15, 2021, with Dr. Shane Robertson officiating, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs.

Interment will be in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Tuesday, December 14, 2021.

Pallbearers will be Allen Constance, Patrick Java, Jake Thomason, Jason Greene, Landon Voigt, Josh Daniels, Kevin Hampton and Derick Walker.

Honorary pallbearers are the children that Matt coach from the Lake Hamilton Optimist Club.
