Matthew McClendon
Matthew Hildred McClendon, 91 of North Little Rock, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2009 at Arkansas Hospice Center in Little Rock. He was born on January 10, 1918 in Lewisville, AR; he was the son of Sidney McClendon and Fannie Olive McClendon.
Matthew was a retired U.S. Postal Worker, and veteran of the United States Army. He was of the Methodist Faith.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Maggie McClendon, a son Henry Mac McClendon, and a granddaughter Holly Janice McClendon.
Survivors include a wife Jean McClendon of North Little Rock; a son Dale McClendon and a daughter Judy Ross both of North Little Rock; a brother Jack McClendon and wife Virgie of Ashdown; six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2009 at Huson Funeral Home Chapel in Sherwood, with Dr. Guy M. Whitney Jr. officiating, burial will follow at the Sumner Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at Huson Funeral Home in Sherwood.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Arkansas Hospice at 5600 West 12th Street Little Rock, Arkansas 72204
