Mary E. Weiler

Mary Weiler, age 84, has left this world to go be with her heavenly father on November 18, 2022. She was born as Mary Elizabeth Kilpatrick to Fay and V.E. “Pat” Kilpatrick on September 23, 1938, the oldest of five siblings. Mary was predeceased by her parents and her two brothers, Major Jim Kilpatrick and V.E. “Butch” Kilpatrick.

Blessed with both a gift for numbers and a very creative side, Mary found success using both skills to the fullest. She retired from the UAMS Biomedical Engineering Department where she  assisted students from foreign countries with their paperwork for grants and travel.  Using her creative side, Mary was able to do any craft she tried. She was a master at the sewing machine using her skills to become one of the city’s most sought after alterations professionals. She was a whiz at knitting, crocheting, painting, and was a true chef in the kitchen. Many of her happiest times were spent as a member of the Red Hat Society where she made new friends and enjoyed traveling.  She will be missed.

Mary is survived by her two children, Mike Eastman of Fayetteville and Susan Cohen (Jerry) of Little Rock; her cherished grandsons, Quinton Cohen and Marshall Cohen of Little Rock; and  her sisters, Pat Massanelli of Belton, Texas and Judy Houston of Clarksville, Arkansas. Mary enjoyed the love of many nieces and nephews residing across the state.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Hickory Heights and Gentiva Hospice for their loving care.
