Mary Tucker

Mary Katherine Carter Tucker age 89, of Arkadelphia, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2019 in Bryant. She was born June 25, 1929 in Arkadelphia to the late William Barnard and Sarah Elizabeth Wright Carter. Mary was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and retired from Henderson State University. She married Charles Wilson Tucker on June 11, 1949.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles Wilson Tucker; one son, Charles Larry Tucker; two brothers, Milton and Wright Carter and one sister, Helen Laverne Sweet.

Survivors are one daughter, Phyllis Tucker of Benton; one daughter-in law Marion Tucker of Plano TX.; one sister, Joyce Gallant and husband, J. C. of Arkadelphia; two grandchildren, Jason Scott Tucker and wife, Cyndi of Allen, Texas and Jennifer Anne Penny and husband, Mike of McKinney, Texas; two great-granddaughters, Madison Leigh and Meredith Evelyn Tucker of Allen, Texas.

Visitation will be 1:00 – 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 2:30 PM at Richwoods Cemetery with Bro. Jackson Rogers officiating.

Pallbearers will be Charles McKin, Tony Bell, Mike Penney, Jerry Burrow, George Finkle and Ray Lawless.
