Mary Katherine Smith age 92, of Arkadelphia passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014 in Arkadelphia. She was born October 9, 1921 in Arkadelphia to Sim and Katie Wood Cox. Mary Katherine was a member of First Baptist Church. She married James E. Smith in 1939 and he preceded her in death on January 7, 1999.
Mary Katherine enjoyed her plants and bird watching. She was an excellent cook, well known for her chocolate pies. She loved her family and was very actively involved in her children's interests.
Survivors are her children, Lynda Smith Baker and husband, Jimmy of West Palm Beach, Florida, Ronnie Eugene Smith Sr. of Hot Springs, Kenny Smith and wife, Earlene of White Hall, Arkansas; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11:30 AM Tuesday, September 9th at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens with Dr. Lee McGlone officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service on Tuesday 9:30 until 11:00 A.M. at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home.
