Mary B. Smith

Mary B. Smith, 82 of Carlisle, passed away June 16, 2022.  She was born September 30, 1939 to the late Linnie and Mable (Rogers) Bevill in Beebe, Arkansas.

She is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, W. D. Smith; daughter Kay (Ruben) Fermin of Cabot; grandchild, Rachel (Benjamin) Stansell of Little Rock; one brother, Bennie (Eddie) Bevill of Cabot; sister-in-law’s Qma Bevill of Sherwood, Marlene Bevill of Gillam, Arkansas; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, W. C. Bevill, Carl Bevill, Bobby Bevill, Roger Dale Bevill; and sisters, Patsy Gillham and Linnie Johnson.

Mary loved her husband of sixty-one years, including thirty years in their dream house they had built on twenty-two acres of land in Carlisle.  Forever a caregiver, Mary spent her retirement years supporting others in her community and giving to various charities.  She was a member of the Carlisle Altruistic Club and served as Program Manager.  She loved collecting antique furniture and glassware and she especially loved flea markets, garage sales, auctions, and estates sales.  She was a master of couponing; her favorite pastime was attempting to get items for free and sharing her freebies with the community.  Mary also enjoyed reading and could spend hours at night wrapped up in a book.  Her nurturing soul and big smile will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimers or Dementia Organizations or Hospice of your choice.

Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, June 25^th from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the Smith Westbrook Funeral Home Chapel with service to follow at 2:00 p.m.  Interment at Antioch Cemetery.
