Mary Scott

Mary Ella Scott of Little Rock, Arkansas, aged 82 great years, died peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, February 14th. Mary Ella was a lover of life, exuding energy and love for everyone she encountered. Mary Ella was the proud mother of four children: Mary Alice, Beth Anne (married to Michael), Robert Brian (married to Martha) and Trudy Kay (married to Jeffrey). She survived the tragic death of her oldest child, Mary Alice in 2002. She was loved by four grandchildren: Robert Bryson Scott (her first born grandchild with whom she shared an exceptional relationship), Denton Alexander Apple, Alice Reagan Apple and Scott Bailey Lockwood. They provided Mary Ella with many youthful excerpts and endless joy and laughter.

Mary Ella was loved by many and deeply adored by her sisters, Rita Fay Barnett and Jacqueline Travis of North Little Rock, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Philip Leo and Verna Morris. She was also preceded in death by her devoted husband of 35 years, Robert Beecher Scott.

Throughout her lifetime, Mary Ella was active within the Little Rock Bowling community and was inducted into the Central Arkansas Women's Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 1997. She was instrumental in the establishment and promotion of league development and women's bowling throughout the Little Rock area. As was true for many of Mary's pursuits, she had a passion for the sport and supported it with zeal and commitment.

Mary Ella was born in the Little Rock area and maintained many long and lasting relationships throughout her lifetime. She was blessed with loyal friends and life long companions. Her family remains grateful to the many souls who loved her and with whom she shared so many precious memories. Mary Ella was an adopted family member to many.

With special thanks to her medical team of Dr. Connelley and Dr. Kovaleski as well as the team of doctors and nurses at St. Vincent's Infirmary and Arkansas Hospice, the family remains truly grateful. She was "Mary Queen of Scott's" and we were all blessed by her life. Mary would be honored if in lieu of flowers, donations could be made to Arkansas Hospice, 14 Parkstone Circle, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72116.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 P.M. Friday in the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel, 1921 Main, 758-1170. Burial will be in Little Rock National Cemetery. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nlrfh.com.
