Mary Rose Acree

Mary Rose Acree, passed away on January 10, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on March 10, 1934, in the serene town of Marshall, Arkansas, Mary was one of ten children, born to Noah and Maude Wallis.

Throughout her life, Mary Rose found profound joy in the presence of her beloved children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her heart overflowed with love as she nurtured and guided her family, fostering a nurturing environment enriched with laughter and cherished memories. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her daughter, Alda Wilkerson and her grandchildren: Amanda, Rusty, Randy, Ladonna, Shelley, and Amber. The impact of her kindness and wisdom continues to resonate through the lives of her great-grandchildren: Drew, Dominique, Dylan, Zac, James Jr., and Tony.

An avid gardener, Mary Rose took great pleasure in nurturing her beloved roses, tending to her garden with the same devotion she bestowed upon her family. Her passion for planting and cultivating beauty reflected her inner grace and desire to bring joy to those around her. She enjoyed her many years as a seamstress, loved bowling with her son and daughter, and was a devoted member of Benton Baptist Tabernacle. 

Mary Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Acree, whom she married on December 5, 1969, and lost in 2017, and her son, Ronald Foster, who now join her in eternal rest. She is also survived by her brother, Doug, who carries fond memories of their time together.

As we remember Mary Rose Acree, we celebrate a life filled with love and an unwavering commitment to family. A visitation will be held from 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM on Friday, January 24, 2025 at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct, Little Rock, AR. Her presence will be dearly missed, yet the garden of love she cultivated will forever bloom in the hearts of those she touched.
