Mary Margaret Purdy

Mary Margaret Purdy, 81, of Sherwood, Arkansas passed away May 8, 2023. She was born October 24, 1941 in Beatrice, Nebraska to the late Harry and Lena May.

She is preceded in death by her son, Michael Purdy. Mary is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Alvin Purdy; children, MeChelle Heath of Fort Myers, Florida and Chris Purdy of Orlando, Florida; grandchildren, Keith Purdy, Melissa Maxson, Alex Purdy, Kristin Heath; and six great-grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends.

Mary had a smile that would light up the room. She was very active in the community and was much loved by her church family at Open Door Community Church of Sherwood. She always enjoyed watching the birds in her yard and gardening. Mary was always thinking of others and would send a card for a birthday or hospital stay on behalf of the church.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Smith Sherwood Funeral Home (7700 Hwy 107) with visitation one hour prior to the service.
