Mary Pearlstein

Mary Ellen Newton Pearlstein, 60, of Little Rock, passed away at home with her family by her side on May 28, 2020. She was born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee to Dottie Evans Whitehead and B. G. Newton.

She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Dottie and Virgil Whitehead; her husband of 22 years, David Pearlstein; daughters, Jenny Davis and Melissa Rodriguez (Art); brother, Matt Newton (Julie); and grandchildren, Nicholas, Emery and Joseph. She was preceded in death by her father, sister, Debbie Newton and brother, Joseph Newton.

Mary grew up in Satellite Beach, Florida, moving to Pine Bluff during her high school years and eventually moved to Little Rock. She spent her nursing career at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, along with years at St. Vincent Infirmary where she took care of mothers and their babies. She shined her brightest during the many, many years she spent taking care of hundreds of children who entered the doors of Arkansas Children's Hospital.

She loved her co-workers and the children and families who crossed her path. The love she carried in her heart for her family and friends is indescribable.
