Mary Patterson

Mary Aeline Patterson, age 86 of Traskwood, AR passed away on November 7, 2022 in Benton, AR.  She was born in Benton, AR on April 5, 1936 and attended Benton Public Schools where she graduated in 1954. Mary was of the Baptist faith and a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church in Benton, AR. Mary was saved and baptized at Holland Chapel in Benton at a young age.

Mary is preceded in death by both of her parents, Jim and Fern Newcomb of Traskwood, AR ; one sister, Sue Otts of Benton, AR; and one son, Terry Patterson of Bryant, AR.

She is survived by her loving and ever attentive husband of almost 62 years of marriage, Earl Graham “Scrapiron” Patterson of Traskwood, AR; daughter,  Denise Hammett (Mike) of Benton, AR; son, Drew Patterson (Tina) of Traskwood, AR; daughter in-law Melinda Patterson of Bryant, AR; two sisters: Linda Bell (William) of Lonsdale, AR and Jimmie Fern Phifer of Benton, AR. She is also survived by the following grandchildren and great-grandchildren: James & Michael Patterson, Michael, Mason & Heather Hammett, John (Ashley) and Weston Patterson, Kristan Fichtner (David) and Anna Gray,
Jimmy Lee, Shane & Adri Rankin, Ashley Dyer and Caleb Patterson along with a host of nieces and nephews and other family and lifelong friends.

A special thank you to her care giver Beverly, her hospice nurse Judy, CNA Angel and all the wonderful people from Hot Springs Gentiva Hospice.

Pallbearers are from Finley’s Pharmacy: Tim Finley, Jason Finley,  Curtis McCormack, Kelly Harvill, Terry Robertson and Torey Shelnut.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Spring Creek Baptist Church Mission fund, Gentiva Hospice (Hot Springs), or your favorite local charity in Mary’s memory.

Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM, Thursday, November 10 at Smith-Benton Funeral Home.  Funeral service, officiated by Bro. James Gray and Bro. Terry Parrish, held at 2:00 PM, Friday, November 11 at the funeral home with burial following at Rosemont Cemetery.
