Mary Eunice Massey, 91, of Benton, Arkansas, died on Saturday, April 14, 2018. Eunice was born November 27, 1926 to the late J.O. and Mary Catherine Derryberry in Hardeman County, Tennessee.
Eunice was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and aunt to her family, she was the one you could pick up the telephone with at anytime and ask anything to. She was always the "Community" grandmother, of whatever neighborhood she lived in. She always loved collecting angels.
Eunice was preceded in death by her adoring husband of fifty-five years Max Massie, along with ten brothers and sisters. She is survived by her two sons; Charles Donald Byrd and wife Frenca of Miramar, FL and John Thomas Byrd and wife Rita of Minden, LA; four grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister: Sarah Vincent of Carlisle, Arkansas; one very special 4 legged fur baby: Barney and a host of nieces, nephews and friends that will miss her greatly.
Visitation-reception will be held on Saturday April 21, 2018 from 1:00-2:00 PM, with services following at Smith-Benton Funeral Home Chapel at 322 N. Market St, Benton, Arkansas, 72015. A private family burial will follow at a later date.
