Mary Manson

Mary Manson, age 85 of Little Rock, AR passed away February 16th in Manhattan, KS where she resided in the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Jeanie and Robert Murphy and family. She was born on January 16, 1930 in Monticello, AR. She was the daughter of Laudie Thomas White and Minnie Phildren Griffin.
Mary was a homemaker for the majority of her life. She was a former member of Park Place Baptist Church in Little Rock, AR and faithful attender of Faith Baptist Church in Manhattan, KS., until her health prevented her.

She enjoyed volunteering at the mission house of Park Place Baptist Church which provided materials good to children across the globe. She loved cooking for her family, especially her raw apple cake. Mary loved ladies fellowships and other ministry opportunities. She was very happy to read and play with all her grand babies.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Manson Sr, two sons, Donald Pifer and James Pifer.

Survivors include 1 brother, James White of Little Rock, AR, 4 sons, John Daughtery of Springfield, MO, William Pifer of Jacksonville, AR, Ronald Pifer of Little Rock, AR, and James Manson Jr also of Little Rock. 2 daughters, Dianne Brooks of Arkansas and Jeanie Murphy of Manhattan, KS, 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on February 23, 2015 at Huson Funeral Home in Little Rock, AR. Burial will follow at The National Cemetery in Little Rock, AR.

Visitation will be Monday, February 23rd from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the Huson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family at Jeanie Murphy, 245 Summit Ave, Manhattan, Kansas 66502.
