Mary Lou White

Mary Lou White, age 85, of Kirby, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022.

She was born on February 2, 1937, in Arkadelphia, the daughter of Joel Franklin Womack and Ola Lee Anderson Womack.  On July 6, 1957, she was married to the true love of her life, Bob White, who preceded her in death on February 17, 2014.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, BJ White and his wife, Amanda White; and all of her siblings.

Mary was a member of the Kirby Church of Christ and for several years, while her children were younger, she was a stay-at-home mother.  After her children were older, she worked for many years as secretary for Dr. Hiram Ward and following that she became the office manager for Dr. Phillip White, until she retired in 2001.  Above all, Mary loved and adored her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was truly a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her children, Leta Rivera, Ted (Teresa) White and J’Ray White, all of Kirby; her grandchildren and their spouses, Brandy and Richard Tolleson of Malvern, Porche and Nick Marschall, Keaton Patterson and Tisha Collins all of Kirby; nine great-grandchildren; three special nephews, Buddy Ray of Murfreesboro, Dr. Joe Buford of North Little Rock and Stan White of Texas; a special niece, Myra Ligon of Kirby; a very special young man who was a blessing and like her grandson, DJ Marschall of Kirby; and numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, October 22, 2022, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Buddy Ray officiating.

Visitation will be held Saturday, 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM, prior to the services at the funeral home.

A private burial will be held in the Valley Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tracy White, Stan White, Gib King, Mark Ligon, Bob Ligon and Allen Foltz.

Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Doster, Randy Golden, Mike Adams, Tommy Jenkins, Brian Holder and Shane Jones.
