Mary Helen Hurst Kuhn

Mary Helen Karr Hurst Kuhn went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at the age of 80.  She was born in Gurdon, Arkansas to George “Boots” and Tular Karr. 

Mary was a retired school teacher from the Delight School District.  After her retirement, she returned to the classroom as an instructor for the Clark County Adult Education Program.  She touched the lives of many young people.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerry Lewis Hurst; and son Keith Wade Hurst.

Survivors include three children, Ronda (Rod) Downey of Bentonville,  Gary (Christi) Hurst of Perryville, and Debbie (Randy) Blanchard of Lake Charles, Louisiana; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers, David (Sherry) Karr of Hot Springs and Roy (Mary) Karr of Hot Springs; one special sister and best friend, Neoma Manning of Curtis; and countless friends.

Thank you to all the friends and family who have reached out. Your kindness is so appreciated.  Mary was loved by so many, and she loved all of you.  Her ashes will be spread at a later date.  Mary asked that there be no service, just to be remembered in your hearts. 

Memorials can be sent to Okolona Baptist Church, 224 West First Street, Okolona, Arkansas 71962.  Any memorials sent will be put in a children’s fund to help disadvantaged youth attend church, and to assist with providing gifts at Christmas.
