Mary Keathley

Mary Ann Pearson Keathley, 87, of North Little Rock, passed into eternal peace on December 14, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Thomas Henry Keathley, one son, Jimmy Keathley, and a sister, Gail Hinton.
She was born July 4, 1921 in Oxford, Arkansas to Winnie and Odus Pearson and lived in the area until she graduated from high school at Violet Hill in 1939. Mrs. Keathley was member of the 6th and Izard Church of Christ (now Windsong) for over fifty years. She was a member of the Arkansas Quilter?s Guild and had many of her original quilting designs published in national magazines and instruction books. One of her beautiful quilts was named ?Best of Show? at the Silver Dollar City quilt show in 1992. Another quilt was selected ?Viewer?s Choice? at the 1990 Arkansas Quilter?s Guild show in Little Rock.
Her family all looked forward to special occasions so we could have her wonderful chocolate, coconut and egg custard pies. Mrs. Keathley was once featured in a North Little Times article about her ?Best Ever Pie Crust?.
She is survived by three daughter and their husbands, Lisa Hicks (James) of Little Rock, Betty Goodson (Mark) of Sherwood, and Carolyn Hobbs (Bill) of Estill Springs, Tennessee; daughter-in-law, Gail Keathley of North Little Rock; a sister, Odetta Singleton of Washington; seven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; one great-great- grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday in the North Little Rock Funeral Home. Burial will be in Edgewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main, 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
