Mary Halford

Mary Lou Halford, age 76, entered Heaven peacefully on January 1, 2020, surrounded by her family. She was born in Memphis, TN to James Alonzo Stidham and Hilda Calhoun Stidham. She is survived by her husband of 57½ years, Jack Thomas Halford; son Tony Halford of Little Rock; daughter, Laura Halford Wood (Mark) of Jonesboro, AR. and son Pat Halford (Susan) of Rogers, Ar. Four granddaughters, Rachel Halford Fowler (Robert) of Maumelle, Ar., Abigail Grace Connerly (Sloan), Gretchen Laine Wood both of Little Rock, and Isabella Halford Wood of Jonesboro, AR. And one grandson Cole Thomas Wood (Leah) of Little Rock. She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Jane and Ann, and several nieces and nephews.

Mary Lou most recently retired from Little Rock Central Clinic for Women in 2012 as the Business Office Manager, though she served the medical community for many years in different capacities. Since her retirement, she volunteered/served, at Arkansas Children's Auxiliary, Our House and Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church (PHUMC), which were all organizations close to her heart.

She always enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking big meals, golfing with her husband and friends, going to the lake, and going on vacations to Grayton Beach, Florida, where she has fond memories with family. She also enjoyed spending time with her longtime friends and traveling. She loved her pets, especially her English Bulldog Bogey. She was an artist in her own right, and appreciated the arts, was a gourmet cook, an avid reader and involved in the activities of her children and grandchildren. Mary Lou was a long time member of PHMC in Little Rock, a best friend to many and had a servants' heart.

There will be a celebration of her life at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 11am. A private burial will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, all memorials should be made in her name to Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and CARTI of Little Rock. Her family would like to thank her friends, church and especially her staff at Little Rock Baptist Medical Center and Dr. Omer Khalil and Jessie for their impeccable care for the last year and a half.

Arrangements by Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct., (501)224-2200. Mary Lou's online guestbook may be signed at www.littlerockfuneralhome.com.
