Mary Ellen George, age 67 of Donaldson went to be with the Lord on May 25, 2008 in her home, after a battle with cancer. She was a devoted Pastor's Wife, Mother, Sister, "Mimaw" Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. Mary retired from Ouchita High School with 23 years of service. Her devotion and love for the Lord and family was a gift and light to all who knew her. Her strength and unshakeable faith allowed her to reach out to those who suffered. She continued until the last moment spreading love, hope, and joy to her family and friends. Mimaw will be greatly missed, but only for a while, for she is resting in the arms of Jesus waiting for that Glad Reunion Day.
She was preceeded in Death by Her parents Ulis and Velma Passmore, two sisters, Leavern Garner and Betty Gregg; and one brother, Bill Passmore.
She is survived by her husband of many years Rev. Jerry George Pastor of Social Hill First Baptist, two daughters, Debbie Holland and husband Bill; Maryetta Beals and husband David both of Donaldson; one son Rev. Bobby George and wife Tracy of Thornton Arkansas; grandsons, Rev. Jerry Holland and wife Amy of Sparkman Arkansas, Nathan Holland and wife Julie of Melbourne, Florida, Dustin Beals and wife Hollie of Donaldson, Arkansas, Brandon George of Thornton, Arkansas. She is also survived by one granddaughter, Ashley Cotter and husband Mike of Blytheville, Arkansas; Great Granddaughters; Taylor and Emma Holland of Melbourne Florida, Kamryn Holland of Sparkman, Arkansas, Kylee Cotter of Blytheville, Arkansas;one Great Grandson Connor Beals of Donaldson; three brothers Willliam Passmore of Clinton, Arkansas; Wilber Passmore of Marshall, Arkansas; Clyde Passmore of Leslie, Arkansas; and two sisters Bessie Gathman of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; and Sue Passmore of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Visitation will be Monday May 26, 2008, from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Ruggles- Wilcox Funeral Home.
Services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday May 27, 2008 in the Ruggles - Wilcox Chapel with Rev. Bobby George and Rev. Jerry Holland officiating. Burial will be in the Ouachita Cemetery at Donaldson
