Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Scott

Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Scott of Little Rock, AR was born October 6, 1932, in Formosa, AR the daughter of the late Hazel Sickler Cheek and Forrest Sickler. She was an active member of Geyer Springs Baptist Church for over 60 years. She graduated Deming High School in New Mexico in 1951 and was retired from Stone Container in Little Rock after 28 years of service as a switchboard operator. After retirement Betty worked at First Electric in Little Rock for many years as a receptionist.

Betty enjoyed butterflies so much that she even wore them in her hair which led to a nickname by some fellow co-workers as “Butterfly Betty”. She also enjoyed reading, teaching the grandkids how to play chicken foot, playing cards with her friends, and loved going to church. Betty was also a die-hard Razorback fan. She loved them so much that she would still cheer for them during a replay. There was not much more she loved than serving the Lord and being surrounded by loved ones.

Betty went to her heavenly home on October 7, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hazel and Forrest Cheek, as well as her husband of 35 years Charles Scott, her brother Carl Dean Sickler, and her sister Carolyn Sue Adair. She is survived by her daughters Beverly Mills, Peggy (Tim) Chandler, and
