Mary Etta McPherson Dycus, 82, of Maumelle, left this home for a better home on December 9, 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents Edgar and Donnie Caldwell McPherson, brothers, Edgar (Bud) McPherson, Innis McPherson, Harold (Ray) McPherson, Johnny Clifford McPherson and one sister Juanita Higdon. On July 2, 1946 she married Raymond Dycus. She is survived by their four daughters, Dianna (Joe) Short of Maumelle, Kathy (Butch) Mobbs and Sandra (Dwayne) Richards of North Little Rock and Connie Rash of Maumelle; six grandchildren, Allan (Stacie) Wharton, Shannon (Kent) Smith, Tony Mobbs, Bobby (Lindsey) and Dusty (Monica) Richards and Leslie (Forest) Lovett; thirteen great grandchildren; two sisters Velma Bailey and Elizabeth Reeves and one brother, Charles McPherson. She also leaves behind her very special friend and companion Wilbur Morrison of Ohio.
Mary was a very hard worker. She retired from Maybelline in 1980. She never met a stranger. She was a meticulous housekeeper and loved working in her yard. Most of all she loved her girls and grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith. She declared Jesus her Lord and Savior and raised her daughters in Cedar Heights Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Mayflower Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Thursday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
