Mary Nell Mashburn Donham died Thursday, April 17, 2007, at the age of 85. She was born December 18, 1921 and grew up in Little Rock, where she attended Little Rock (Central) High School and Little Rock Junior College. She was a member of First Christian Church in Little Rock.
She was graced not only with beauty and brains, but also with a smile through both good times and bad, which she was noted for her entire life. Without a complaint, she took all that life dealt her with dignity, courage, patience, tolerance and faith.
Mary Nell lived by the Golden Rule, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Her favorite saying was, "The least most important word in the English language is ‘I'." She always saw the good in people and always gave a helping hand to those in need. She greeted everyone with a smile, a cheerful hello and a compliment. She had a way of making your day a little brighter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Donham, Jr.; her parents, Theo and Winifred Mashburn; her sister, Betty Ann Mano; her daughters, Debbi Oskowis and Judy Wright; and her grandsons, William H. "Willie" Donham IV, and Lucas Donham Oskowis. She is survived by a son, William H. "Buck" Donham III, of Little Rock; a daughter, Mimi Nation, of Little Rock; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Mary Nell will always be loved, always be remembered and always be missed.
