Mary Stueart Daniel, age 89, of Hot Springs, AR, died Thursday, April 21, 2016. She was born in Nashville, AR, January 31,1927, the daughter of Henry Stueart Sr. and Rubye Moore Stueart. Mary was a retired purchasing agent for Henderson State University in Akadelphia, AR and a former employee of the City of University Park in Dallas, TX. She taught swimming to handicapped children in Dallas, was a member of National Park Hospital Auxiliary, Salvation Army, the Stockettes Investment Club , and First United Methodist Church, all of Hot Springs. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, David Neil Matlock and Rufus H. Daniel, one son Dr. Scott Daniel, one grandson Robby Daniel, and one brother Henry Stueart, Jr.

She is survived by her son Stueart Matlock (Nancy) of Benton, AR, two sisters Gloria Daniel (Gary) of Minden, LA and Gene Buck (Melvin) of Hot Springs, daughter-in-law Kathy Daniel of Dallas, TX, three grandchildren Matt Daniel (Christina) of Dallas, Andy Matlock of Jonesboro, AR, and Mark Matlock (Tracy) of Mountain Home, AR, and six great-grandchildren.

The family expresses special thanks to Dr. Robert McCrary and his staff and the staff of Garrett Manor Assisted Living, both in Hot Springs, for their help in caring for her in the last year of her life.

A Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2016, at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Chapel in Arkadelphia, AR with Rev. Travis Langley officiating. There will be no formal visitation.

Memorials may be made to the Atchley Cemetery Fund, 316 Fite Rd., Arkadelphia, Ar 71923.
