Mary Ruth McCaskill Coplen age 79 of Arkadelphia died Monday, December 1, 2008 in Arkadelphia. She was born June 30, 1929 in El Dorado, Arkansas the daughter of Charlie Lee and Lucille Ward McCaskill. She was a homemaker, a volunteer with Baptist Hospital Auxiliary and a member of the Gurdon First Baptist Church. Her husband, Wilbur Lee Coplen and son, Phillip Lee Coplen preceded her in death.

Survivors include her former husband, Dale Wingfield of Arkadelphia; two sons, Robert Lynn Coplen; Charles Earnest Coplen and his wife, Patricia Lynn all of Gurdon; five daughters, Cynthia L. Davidson; Barbara J. Coplen; Ruthie Bridges and her husband, Joe all of Arkadelphia; Mary Ellen Barfield and her husband, Jerrell of Nashville, AR; Sherry Callison and her husband, Kenny of Donaldson, AR; eighteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, December 4, 2008 at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Paul Sheets and Bro. Charles Leslie officiating with burial in Rose Hill/Sycamore Cemetery near Gurdon. Visitation will be Wednesday at the funeral home with family receiving friends from 6-8 PM. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Brett Coplen, Chris Shaw, Jared Clark, Mickey Coplen, Bobby Coplen, Casey Coplen, Jeff Barfield, Jeremy Barfield, Brian Bridges and Paul Williams.
