Mary JoAnn Chambers, 77, of North Little Rock went to her Heavenly Home on February 7, 2017. Mary was born on October 16, 1939 to the late Joe Alexander and Edna (Spung) Kaufman in Perry County, Ohio.
Mary was a lifetime member of the Nazarene Church; she always devoted herself tirelessly to serving our Loving God and her Church and ways always involved in community. She served in various roles from Secretary to President for the Ladies Auxiliary, and Women of Veterans affairs.
Mary moved to California early in her married life where she attended Nursing School, earning the top of her class and graduating with honors. She began her nursing career in labor and delivery acclaiming high levels of recognition along the way. Mary completed the final years of her career certifying nurses for the State of California.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, two sons; Timothy and Steven; brother Eddie and sister Gloria. She is survived by four children: Debbie Harvey and partner Tim of Idaho, Jackie Duchene and husband Doug of Hot Springs Village, Jeffrey Quinn of California City and Zayne Quinn and wife Vicki of North Little Rock; Grandchildren: Heather Giao and husband John of Idaho, Steven Duchene and wife Ryshel of Idaho, Paul Duchene of Colorado, Josh, Ashley, Brandon and Caylee of California, one great grandchild Jace Giao of Idaho; two brothers: Pete Dew of Ohio and Ralph Cole of California; sister: Ruth Dew of California; and a host of extended family and friends who loved her dearly.
If anyone ever asked her what her greatest accomplishment in life was, without hesitation she would always say "Serving God and loving my family and friends."
Visitation with reception will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, February 10, 2017 at Smith-Benton Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Smith-Benton Funeral Home with the Rev. Conley Henderson officiating. Burial will following at Smith-Rosemont Cemetery, Benton, AR.
