Mary Briscoe

Mary Ozell Pennington Briscoe died Thursday, November 2, 2006 in Spokane, Washington after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. She was born June 30, 1911 in Willow, Arkansas. She married William Cooper Briscoe and lived in Arkadelphia and El Dorado, Arkansas. She also lived in Luling, Louisiana until her husband retired from Monsanto Chemical Company after which they returned to Arkadelphia until her husband's death in 1980. She moved to Spokane, Washington in 1985. Ozell loved sewing, quilting and handcrafts of all kinds. She was a Girl Scouts leader and an active member in the Methodist Church in Arkansas and Louisiana.

Survivors include one daughter, Emily Ross Dupuis and husband, Jim of Spokane, Washington; two granddaughters, Monica L. Jacobs and husband, Matt of Rosalia, Washington, Melanie L Schoesler and husband, Tom of Spokane, Washington; one grandson, Mark A. Dupuis and wife Michelle of Spokane, Washington; eight great-grandchildren, Dalton, Dillon and Daphne Jacobs, Logan, Raeann and Margo Schoesler, Jordan and Jesse Dupuis; three nieces, Camille Montgomery of Moran, Texas, Nancy Foster and husband, Jim of Little Rock, Arkansas, Patti Leman and husband, Robert of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; and one nephew, Rev. Jim Pennington and wife, Nancy of Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jim Foster officiating. Arrangements are by Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home of Arkadelphia. Online guest book is available at www.ruggleswilcox.com
