Mary Ann Arndt Banzer, age 96, of Hot Springs, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022.
She was born May 1, 1926, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Alfred Frances Arndt, Sr. and Irene Kanne Arndt. She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Banzer; her parents; her brother and sister-in-law, Al and Marion Arndt; her niece, Joy Arndt Rowe; and her long-time friend, Linda Holman.
Mary Ann was of the Catholic faith and was very active in the Catholic church her entire life. She worked for the Board of Trade in Chicago, running the stock info up flights of stairs to the stock traders. She also worked as a switchboard operator for the telephone company. After she married on October 4, 1971, she moved to Wichita, Kansas with her husband, living there for 21 years. After Bill's passing on July 11, 1993, she moved to Hot Springs to be closer to family. She loved animals, especially dogs, flower gardening and in her earlier years did oil painting and ceramics.
She is survived by her three fur babies, April, Bobbie and Cody; numerous nieces, nephews; extended family and a host of many good friends from her church.
A Rosary will be held at 1:30 PM, Friday, July 29, 2022, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 PM, in the St. Mary of the Springs Catholic Church, officiated by Father Ravi Gudipalli. Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery.
