Marvin Sloan

Marvin Douglas Sloan, of Royal, Arkansas passed away on February 4th, 2024, at the age of 68. He is joining his father, Marvin Rowe Sloan and brother-in-law, Randy Self in Heaven.  

Throughout his life, Marvin showed an unwavering commitment to both his career and family. He retired from the US Army Corps of Engineers working near one of his favorite places, Lake Ouachita. Marvin was a devoted family man with a heart full of love and compassion. In his spare time, he loved camping and going to the Buffalo River with his family, enjoyed watching westerns, and stayed up to date with the world news. 

He leaves behind his loving wife of thirty-nine years, Nell Larae Wood Sloan; his mother Joyce Evans Sloan; one sister, Suzy Sloan; along with his children; Amanda Oglesby, Andrew Matthew, and Mattilynn Sloan; step-children: Jennifer Jones and William Wood; four grandchildren: Jacob and Tommy Oglesby, and Hannah and Randy Jones. 

Services will be held at Royal Baptist Church, 7402 Albert Pike Rd., Royal, Arkansas on February 10, 2024, at 2:00PM with a visitation from 1:00PM until service time.
