Marvin Echols

Marvin Albert Echols, 87, of Little Rock, died August 7, 2016. He was born July 13, 1929 in Ft. Worth, Texas. He graduated from Little Rock Senior High in 1948 and attended Kansas State Teachers College in Pittsburg, Kansas. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Marvin worked in the printing business for many years as a printer. He retired from Rand Wholesale where he worked as head of their printing department.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Maryann Echols; two daughters, Kathy and Karen, both of Little Rock; sister, Glenda Taylor (Bruce) of Mt. Ida; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Echols of Little Rock, Loretta Echols of Jonesboro and Betty Jackson of New Jersey; two grandsons, Matthew Mason and Ryan Mason of Conway; two granddaughters, Linley Piechocki and Ashley Piechocki and their father, Randal Piechocki, all of North Little Rock; as well as numerous nieces, grandnieces, nephews and grandnephews.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Viola and Claude Echols; two brothers, Eugene Echols of Little Rock, Melvin Echols of Jonesboro; brother-in-law, Rodgers Jackson of New Jersey; and son-in-law, John Mason of Little Rock.

Our thanks to the Baptist Health Hospice nurses and aides who helped care for Marvin.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 11 from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). Graveside services with Military Honors will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, officiated by Paul Sanders.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arkansas Heart Association, 909 W. 2nd St., Little Rock, AR 72201, Alzheimer's Arkansas, 201 Markham Center Dr., Little Rock, AR 72205 or AETN Foundation, P.O. Box 1250, Conway, AR 72033.
