Marvin Bettis

Marvin Bettis, age 94 of North Little Rock, went to be with the Lord February 11, 2014 at Little Rock. He was born on November 16, 1919 in Quitman, Arkansas and was the son of David W. Bettis and Lora White Bettis.

Mr. Bettis was a retired appliance service technician and a World War II combat veteran, having served in the South Pacific. He was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church of North Little Rock, and was a Master Mason and a member of the Eastern Star; he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, hunting, fishing and gardening.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Ella Cullum and Cora Rhoades, brothers Floyd Bettis, Hamer Bettis and Frank Bettis and his favorite nephew Newton Rhoades.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-five years Hilda Kennedy Bettis; three sons, Gary (Regenia), Randy (Linda), and Ron (Kathy) Bettis; seven grandchildren Gary Bettis Jr., Kristen Yohe (Scott), Adam Bettis (Kristin), Melissa Geering (Josh), Amy Baker (Donnie), Lindsey Bettis and Shane Thomas; ten great-grandchildren Hannah, Tyler and Zachary Yohe, Grayson Bettis, Luke, Elizabeth and Isaac Geering, Gabe and Mary Katherine Baker and Lauren Thomas and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 14, 2014 at First Free Will Baptist Church in North Little Rock with entombment following at Edgewood Memorial Park Mausoleum in North Little Rock.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 13, 2014 from 6: 00 p.m. until 8: 00 p.m. at First Free Will Baptist Church in North Little Rock.

Memorials may be made to First Free Will Baptist Church at 2001 Parkway Drive, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72118.
