Martin Katilius

Martin Katilius, 58, died September 27, 2013, at his home in Carterville, Illinois surrounded by family.
He was born August 23, 1955, in Little Rock, Arkansas to Stanley and Anne Katilius.
He attended Little Rock Catholic and Hall High schools and continued his education at LSU where he graduated with degrees in Forestry and Business Management.
For the last 10 years he has served as General Manager at SCI Box in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
He will be remembered for his love and devotion to his family. He will be missed by Cathy, his wife of 36 years, his son Daniel and wife Beth of Chesterfield, Virginia, and his son Christopher of Carterville, Illinois. He is also survived by his two sisters, Patricia Morriss of Maumelle, Arkansas and Katherine Ferrari of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, and many loving relatives and friends.
Marty liked nothing better than to take his boat out on the lake with his sons to fish or go on a trip to a game preserve for some deer hunting.
He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers' fan who was lucky enough to be present in Detroit to see them win the Super Bowl in 2006.
Marty was known for his dry sense of humor. The twinkle in his eyes and playful smirks so often shared won't soon be forgotten; nor will his generosity and willingness to reach out to others.
