Martha Wisdom

Martha Jean Elmore Wisdom was born April 30, 1930 at Malvern, Arkansas to Doyle and Eunice Elmore. She died on March 29, 2010. She was preceded in death by her father Doyle Elmore and her mother Eunice Elmore, brothers Darrel Elmore and D.W. (Dub) Elmore, all from Little Rock. Survivors are her husband of sixty years, Dean Wisdom; daughter Lisa Blair (Mike); grandsons Joshua Coldiron (Holly) and Jonathan Coldiron (Cristen); great-grandsons Aydne and Levi Coldiron and great-granddaughter Madison Coldiron; two brothers, Charles and David Elmore; all of Little Rock; one sister, Alice Langrell (Ray) of Clinton; and a host of nieces and nephews and many friends.
She was a nationally known porcelain sculpture artist. For some thirty years she taught porcelain sculpting and painting in Little Rock, Arkansas as well as six surrounding states. Every student became her friend and thoroughly enjoyed sharing her artistic abilities. Her days in class were the best days of her life. She became known nationally because of some seventy-five technique articles that she had published in several national ceramic magazines. She was also a well known ceramic judge for twenty years. She judged shows in Dallas, Oklahoma City, Memphis, Nashville and Orlando. She served as show chairman for twenty years for the Arkansas Ceramic Association and was made a lifetime member when she retired. She is a fifty-year member of Iron Springs Eastern Star and a member of Archview Baptist Church. She will be missed deeply.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 1, 2010, at Antioch Cemetery, which is four miles from Beebe on Hwy. 31 N.
