Martha Dean Parchman, 86, of North Little Rock passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015. She was born December 16, 1928 in McRae, Arkansas to Ruby Bennett and Carvell Bell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, E.L. Parchman and her parents. She is survived by her brother, Jimmy Bell (Margie); nephew, Larry Bell; sons, Carl Parchman (Tammy) of Sherwood and Robert Parchman (Ashley) of Shreveport, Louisiana; four grandchildren, Michael Parchman and Sarah Henson, of Sherwood, Blake Parchman and Kyle Parchman, both of Shreveport, Louisiana; five great-grandchildren, Braxton, Deacon, Denver, Leighton and Piper; as well as a host of family and friends.
A longtime and faithful member of Levy United Methodist Church in North Little Rock for over 60 years, she loved her church and church family. She was a member of United Methodist Women, Discovery Sunday School Class and Friendship Circle. As bookkeeper of both Venable Lumber Company and Levy Concrete in North Little Rock for nearly 40 years, she was well known by the community. She was a member of Democratic Women, and a past president and member of National Association of Women in Construction.
Our heartfelt thanks go to the many caregivers both in her home and the nursing home. She loved them and they loved her.
A Memorial and Celebration service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 28th at Levy United Methodist Church, with visitation to follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in her memory to Levy United Methodist Church, 701 W. 47th Street, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72118.
