Martha Jean Mason

Martha Jean Mason, 72, of Benton, Arkansas passed away April 30, 2023.  She was born January 16, 1951 in Warren, Arkansas to the late Sam and Hazel (Doss) Crutchfield.

Martha was a member of Oak Park Baptist Church.  She was a hard, dedicated worker and managed delis in grocery stores for many years in Salem and East End.  Martha loved her family fiercely.  She was extremely devoted and never judged anyone.  She would give people more chances than they deserved and offered unconditional love.  Martha was a single mother, yet raised two wonderful daughters who adored her and were grateful for all she sacrificed for them while they were growing up. 

Preceding Martha in death are her husband, Joe E. Mason; daughter, Rachel Mason; and several siblings.

Martha leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Karen Mason of Benton, Arkansas; grandchildren:  Meagan Mason, Gabriella Binns, and RJ Thompson; great-grandson, Linkoln Ellington; sisters:  Gloria Hankins of Rison, Arkansas and Doris Rice of Clinton, Arkansas; and a host of family and friends who love Martha and will miss her always.

Services will be held on Friday, May 5 at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, with visitation held 10:30-11:30 AM, followed by funeral service, officiated by Bro. Gary O’Neal, at 11:30 AM.  Burial following at Pinecrest Memorial Park at 1:00 PM.
